We migrated Withlocals to Amazon Web Services (AWS) to provide a scalable cloud infrastructure. By using AWS Elastic Beanstalk, the platform was able to scale automatically based on traffic, ensuring high availability and performance even during peak travel seasons. Amazon RDS was used to manage the platform’s relational database, ensuring secure storage of user and host data.
We developed a real-time booking system that allowed users to view the availability of local hosts and book experiences instantly. The system integrated with a calendar management tool, syncing bookings across different time zones and providing real-time updates to both hosts and travelers. Automated notifications for booking confirmations, cancellations, and changes were sent out, ensuring seamless communication between both parties.
